Pulling the Marching Band Trailer

Pulling the Marching Band Trailer

  • The driver will need a fairly large vehicle to pull the trailer.
  • The trailer is approximately 25 long. It is rated for a maximum load of 10,000 pounds however when full it is not loaded to anywhere near that weight.
  • Your vehicle must be able to accept a Tongue weight of 1,000 pounds.
  • Your vehicle needs a 2 receiver to accept the hitch. The trailer has a hitch with the appropriate sized ball (2 5/16) 7-pin electrical connection is required.
  • The trailer has electric breaks; a break control unit is needed. If your vehicle does not have the control unit you still may be able to help, occasionally a smaller trailer, without electric breaks needs to be pulled to an event.
  • Whoever pulls the trailer needs to be at Blaine before the band leaves for a parade. You generally follow the bus to the event, and follow the bus back to the school after the show. 60% of the time, the trailer is pulled behind the band during the parade.
